Scrim Vs Slappers (S|)

Hey Guys.

We are keen for a scrim next week, Friday is the best for us.
Can you guys make a team for 8pm?

well sort more details once i get confirmation of a team =)

CTF, 20 min each way.

After CTF, 10 min break.
TDM, 20 min each way

Either Gamers.net, or SAS server.
(if we stay gamers, we wont have to change pw's etc)

Well play GA rules, PAM mode and CTF.

I dont see how you can say CTF is less boring than TDM =/ in CTF you have direction and a goal. TDM you have random spawns and you barely work as a team.

Besides, if you plan on entering the GA ladder, you better get used to it =P

what, so the other gametypes arent based on any strategy or goal (HQ, Ret, BA, Dom, S&D) ????? im with custard, CTF is the most boring gametype around, and tdm is pure fun, no goal, no strategy, just the way a GAME should be played.

BTW...friday is out for me.

im sure our guys wont mind playing a round of TDM after the scrim.

how about, you pick the map for CTF, and we pick the map for TDM?
or vice versa.
or we can pick GA styles.

we can play ctf on our server, then tdm on yours if you like.

im not complaining exactly. i just find other game types keep up interest in the game, and i would like to think this wouldnt be the only scrim/match we may have with you guys, and hopefully they can be on different days and different gametypes to mix it up.

no, i meant that TDM/DM has no strategy.

thats what makes them fun. just run and shoot and forget strategy for a while.

Haha, sorry, my brain is a little more complex than that.

id rather have the easy tasks of running and shooting be put to the back of my mind, while team strats, attacks and defense all take place.

thats cool, each to thier own. dont forget the madness of a tdm/dm can keep your reflexes sharp tho.

back to the topic, how are the scrim plans coming along? are you booking a ga server for it or just run off each others server?

Guys put in here who can or cant make it for friday night ASAP so we can figure out if its gonna happen or not. i unfortunately wont be there, but that gives someone yet to be in a scrim a chance to have a go. be quick with your answers, in case a booking for a server is needed.

you guys have a server, and so do we. i see no reason to play on a GA.

our guys have no worries playing a TDM match after CTF.

Our server is able to use PAM and has all the GA settings ready. so well play there.

afterwards, we can either change to TDM on our server, or all head over to yours.

I say we pick maps GA style. incase you dont know how it works, heres the explanation.

We are challenging you to CTF, so we will offer 3 maps, then you pick which one to play from those 3.

When we play TDM, you are challenging us, so you give us 3 maps to pick from.

Challenging team always starts as allied.

Pretty easy really.

then why on earth are you not playing a RTS or even counter strike, COD is one of the most stratergy-lacking games i have ever played.

Instead of CTF you should play SD, so much better then CTF and it requires 'stratergy'.

cod uo is based on ctf just look at all the uo maps,s&d requires almost no thinking at all (camp,plant then camp some more ).And to do well in ctf you have to take the time to think about what you are going to do and not let very one go of and do there own thing lol i know ppl that could talk about uo strats for hours.
